60’s-Inspired branding Shoot - Teacher Headshots

There’s something incredibly special about working with clients who bring their full selves into a session—personality, vision, passions, and all. When Kris, a high school English teacher, reached out for headshots and branding photos to use on her website, she had a clear goal in mind: to celebrate her birthday, elevate her professional presence, and express who she truly is as an educator.

From the beginning, Kris had a unique concept that I instantly fell in love with—a 1960s professor vibe. Think: tweed jackets, timeless literature, and a cozy, intellectual energy that transports you to the pages of a well-worn classic. Her vision wasn’t just stylish; it was deeply personal, and it set the tone for a shoot that felt more like storytelling than posing.

To bring this aesthetic to life, I created a custom book page wall in the studio using real vintage pages and delicate sprigs of baby’s breath. This backdrop not only looked beautiful—it symbolized Kris’s love of literature and the world of words she so passionately shares with her students. The baby’s breath added a soft, timeless touch, almost like poetry blooming from the walls.

Kris came prepared with all the right details: her favorite books (a collection that could rival any school library!), her go-to coffee order, and a wardrobe that nodded to classic academia while still feeling modern and approachable. Every element she brought in helped tell her story—not just as a teacher, but as someone who believes in the magic of words and the power of connection.

The final images were more than just headshots. They were a celebration of who Kris is: a thoughtful, creative, and dedicated educator who brings heart into her classroom. Whether her students are discussing Shakespeare or sipping coffee during study sessions, Kris is the kind of teacher who makes English feel alive and inspiring.

Capturing this shoot was a joy, and it reminded me why I love branding sessions so much—because when done right, they’re about more than just a polished photo. They’re about showing the world who you really are.

Personal touches make branding sessions so much more meaningful. If you're ready to create images that actually feel like you, I’d love to help. Reach out and let’s dream up something beautiful.

Happy birthday, Kris. Thank you for letting me help tell your story.
