As a Syracuse engagement photographer, I've witnessed countless love stories unfold, each one unique and special in its own way. But some moments, they just take your breath away. This particular story, a surprise proposal at the couple's alma mater, was one of those moments. It was a beautiful blend of nostalgia, romance, and the excitement of a future together.

There's something truly special about proposing at your alma mater. It's a place steeped in shared history, a reminder of youthful dreams and the beginnings of a lifelong journey together. Recently, I had the privilege of capturing such a poignant moment – a proposal at the couple's beloved alma mater.

I received a call from Tyler a few weeks prior. He was planning to propose, and he wanted to do it at the place where their love story began: their college campus. He envisioned a romantic setting, a private moment amidst the familiar architecture and gorgeous boat house where they first met. He wanted to capture the raw emotion, the surprise, the joy – everything. And that's where I came in.

The scene was set at a picturesque spot on campus: a dock at the historic boat house on campus. As the couple strolled hand-in-hand towards their designated spot, the musician began to play. The groom, overcome with emotion, knelt down on one knee. The look of surprise and joy on his partner's face was priceless. Tears welled up in their eyes as he poured his heart out, professing his love and asking her to spend forever with him.

My role as a photographer was to discreetly capture these precious moments, capturing the raw emotion and the sheer joy of this unforgettable event. I focused on capturing the couple's expressions, the intimate exchange, and the beauty of the surrounding campus.
