“I don’t know how to pose”

Let me help - I won’t let you stand there uncomfortable waiting for directions. Remember - I’m your biggest hype girl!

With all posing, I'll start by gently guiding you into a general pose. I'll explain where the light is and how I'd like you to be angled. Once you're in that general pose, I encourage you to settle in. What feels natural will be a little different for everyone, so this is your time to make it your own.

My best advice is to continue to move. Gently swaying, running your fingers through your hair, interacting with your environment, etc. These little movements build a story and bring life into your images.

Some of the most poetic images come from ignoring the camera and interacting with your surroundings how you typically would. I'll get you into those loose poses, step back and let you go. I'll try not to interrupt too often, and you'll feel the magic unfold.

Such an amazing photographer! She meets the needs of what her clients want, and delivers. She has you fill out a form of what kind of photos you want and does such a great job of understanding. Perfect photographer for senior pictures and made me feel comfortable the entire time.” —Melissa M

When it comes to planning senior pictures, I believe in collaboration and communication every step of the way. Whether it's brainstorming location ideas, discussing wardrobe options, or simply getting to know each other better, I strive to create a comfortable and supportive environment where you feel valued and heard.

I’ve built my business for over 7 years focusing on seniors and what makes you unique. I want to highlight your personality and what makes you - YOU!

I want you to feel fully supported throughout your senior session process; from the time you first reach out, all the way to displaying your favorite images. I'll take care of every worry and stress you may have, so that you can sit back, relax and have the best time EVER during your custom senior session.

Picking 3-5 outfits will really fill out the session with variety. Think of ways to layer, also, because it adds more dimension to your images.

I love to add any sort of jacket, sweater, hat, etc. because those can turn into 2 different images right there with one outfit. Think of throwing your jacket over your shoulder and walking down the street with the next image you wearing the jacket and leaning against a doorway downtown. All of those layers create more visual interest and can add so much to your gallery.

Don't forget about shoes! You shoes should match your outfit vibe, because you will see your shoes in the photos. Don't bring your running shoes that have seen better days. Planning shoes with each outfit is crucial!

Your senior year of high school is such a special time of your life, and I'm here to document who you are at this exact moment.

FAQs

  • I typically start my senior sessions around 3 hours before sunset unless we're doing an early morning session.

  • About two weeks after your session, I'll deliver all of your finished images in an online gallery. You'll be able to see all of your images in color and black and white to start saving your favorites.

  • I create a custom inspiration board for every senior session. I build a board based on your location preferences, the vibe you're going for, and any thing else I can add to help guide and prepare you for your session!

  • I suggest start thinking about them in your junior year of high school. What season/month is your favorite or if you play sports, when would you be getting that uniform? If you love spring, taking your photos before you're "actually" a senior isn't a bad idea, because you'll have plenty of time to find your favorites and turn them into the year book. You don't want to wait until last minute because some schools need photos in October/November, and those are considered a photographer's busy months.
